Travel to Balatonfüred

Arriving by plane to the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport (BUD)

Liszt Ferenc International Airport is Hungary’s largest and busiest international airport. It is located in the south-eastern part of the city, about 16 km from the city centre. Currency exchange services for Hungarian forints are available at the airport. If you would like to travel by car, rental options are also available. The 100E Airport Express bus provides a convenient, cost-effective, and fast connection between the airport and the city centre.

By train from Budapest

A direct train departs from South Railway Station to Balatonfüred. The train departs every two hours, with a journey time of just under two hours. Bicycles can be transported on the train, but a bicycle seat reservation is required. The Balatonfüred Congress Centre is a ten-minute walk from the train station.

Arrival by bus from Győr

A direct bus service departs from Győr’s bus station to the conference venue every two hours. The journey takes 2 hours and 42 minutes, ending at Balatonfüred Railway Station, from where the Congress Centre is a ten-minute walk away.

Travelling by car

By car, Balatonfüred can be reached from Budapest via the M7 motorway, turning off after Balatonfőkajár and following the northern shore of Lake Balaton.

From Vienna, Balatonfüred can be reached via Győr by taking Route 82 or 83 towards Veszprém, from where the venue is easily accessible.

Visitors from Southern Austria or Burgenland should take Route 8, then head south via Veszprém to reach Balatonfüred.

For those arriving from Slovenia or Croatia, the recommended route is via Nagykanizsa. From there, the venue can be reached either via Route 71 or the M7 motorway, in which case crossing Lake Balaton by the Tihany ferry is necessary. Free parking is available on-site for participants.
