The EuroVelo cycling path network spans over 90,000 kilometres across the entire continent. It currently includes 17 long-distance cycling routes that connect Europe’s major cities and regions, from Portugal to Turkey and from Norway to Malta. The operation of the network is a massive undertaking and is managed by the European Cyclists’ Federation.
The routes offer an incredible adventure for cycling enthusiasts to explore Europe’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and historical landmarks. In addition to tourists, locals also frequently use them for daily commuting, getting to work, or simply for recreational cycling. The EuroVelo network contributes to the development of sustainable transportation, the protection of the environment, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

EuroVelo, the European cycle route network (2025)
EuroVelo is a cycling route network that spans Europe, weaving through Hungary’s breathtaking landscapes as well. Four EuroVelo routes pass through Hungary: EuroVelo 6, stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Black Sea; EuroVelo 11, running from Norway to Greece; EuroVelo 13, known as the Iron Curtain Trail; and EuroVelo 14, following the waters of Central Europe. Balatonfüred is located along this route, making the conference venue part of the EuroVelo network. These routes take cyclists along high-quality bike paths, low-traffic public roads, and traffic-free asphalt and dirt roads, all set in stunning scenery.
